Lip Balm Addiction?????

If Bree from Desperate Housewives and Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S have OCD, then I have OCBD (Obsessive Compulsive Buying Disorder), only while buying Lip Balms, my hubby should be thankful that it's not jewellery. It's something about the colors, the smell, the texture and the shapes that always makes me to reach out for just one more......

From Left to Right:- Oriflame Tender care Lip Balm, Vaseline Choco Lip Therapy, Nivea Cherry, Lip Smackers in Green Apple and Lemon, TBS Lip Roll On in Orange, Fab India Dew Apple, TBS Spiced Vanilla Lip Butter, TBS Chocomania, Lakme Lip Love in Siren, Oriflame Vanilla, TBS Born Lippy in Watermelon.

I have some more stash left at my mom's place too. :) That'll be in Part 2.

Left to Right: Oriflame Tender Care, Vaseline Choco Therapy, Nivea Cherry.

My hubby holding Lip oils ( from left to right) Lip Smackers in Lemon, Green Apple and TBS Orange.

Lakme Lip love in Siren

TBS Chocomania, it's like appyling melted Ferrero Rocher... Yummy...

Fab India Dew Plum, bought it yesterday and used it only once...

A Reminder of Christmas.... TBS Spiced Vanilla Lip Butter.

Lip Smackers: These were a surprise, they leave a lovely natural shade on the lips as well.

   Nivea and Vaseline my favourites...

TBS Lip Roll On and Oriflame Tender Care Lip Balm. I use this Oriflame Lip Balm as a base before using lipsticks and it helps the color stay on longer.

I'm going to use all this and buy the next lip balm ( let's see as to how long i'll hold out....) Untill then, Have a
good night.... Sweet dreams..... my lovlies....

P.S. I've been hauling like crazy for the past few days.......... Will keep posting, if I have the time from working, studying, reading, etc...

Your comments and views are most appreciated... :)

Review: TBS Ananya Body Mist.

This Review was requested by Aarthi of A Shopaholic.

This is wonderful mist from TBS, it smells fresh and nice. And it's got an amazing staying power for a Mist. The thing is like Mystique from X-Men this fragrance keeps changing, sometimes its floral and clean then it becomes sickeningly sweet. I have this weird feeling that Zhang Ziyi of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fame would smell like this spray (lol!) because it smells so oriental. It lasts all day long and you need not spray again and again. I like this scent the most when, after hours of using it, you get a mild whiff of it. That's when i love it.

Yeahs:-
  • While wearing it, you can smell it for hours.
  • Alcohol free.
  • Fits easily into your handbag.
  • If you like jasmine, this is the smell for you.

Nays:-
  • Too sweet
  • Packaging is not sturdy.
Price: 610/-

Would i repurchase it?
Noooooooo. Appa's in Dubai, buying Bath and Body Works stuff for me,  will try their body mists.

My Rating (4/5) -1 for being too sugary....

P.S: My camera is working again.... :) will post everyday from now. :)

My First Book Review!!!!!

It's 12:11 AM, Vairam is sleeping peacefully beside me, the soft  hum of the ac can be heard and it's like as if i'm in safe cocoon. But sleep eludes me and so here i am.... typing away.

You know you're a book addict when you take four novels for the week and the library anna (any guy, other than our husbands, who is older than us; is anna for us Tamil Girls) says "Ivavlouthana?" meaning "Is that all?" I smile at him and make apologetic faces at my hubby who always moans that his entire life savings will be spent by me in libraries and bookstores.

Twos are always better than one, for example: Tom and Jerry, Brandon and Benwah ( my youngest cousins aged four and almost three who behave like Tom and Jerry), Ben and Jerry's ice cream, etc, etc.

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child are remarkble when they write seperately but together they come up with some awe inspiring stuff.

The book starts with a bang, you dont have to wait to become excited, just read the first page and you'll forget about lunch or dinner. Dr. Nora Kelly gets a long delayed letter from her father who is belived to be dead talking about a lost city of gold.. She gets the funding from her Employer and goes into the dry and lonely place of Utah. The group consists of an interesting mix of a cowboy, a NASA engineer, a journalist, and a few archaeologists. Their main goal is to get great success by finding the legendary Incan treasure but Nora has a different agenda; finding her father.

Meanwhile they're evil forces out there hard at work to stop her from reaching that place. There's adventure, tragedy, romance, etc, etc.

Does Nora get the treasure? Does she meet her father? Read the book to find out... Reading this book is like watching an Indiana Jones movie without the whip and besides Nora is not afraid of snakes...... she is terrified of something else... find out for yourself.

As for me.... I'm gonna sleep. Have to visit the Library tomorrow. :)

My Huge Body Shop Haul :)

I've always wanted to try out the famed Body Shop Body Butters but never had the chance to, untill i visited the TBS Store in Ampa Mall. I was so excited to find that they were having a Clearance Sale and since it was the month of love, my hubby asked me to splurge. I felt shy to ask the S.A as to what were the items that were on sale; since most of the stuff were a little expensive. So i decided that I was worth it and started shopping. Imagine my surprise when the bill amount turned out to be lesser than i expected. I came out grinning like the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.

And then we had guests over, my cousin had her baby girl that was long awaited for, my sister who is pregnant came over for her delivery and i completly forgot about that purchase untill a few days back. I was helping my mom clean her room and there it was, the large Body Shop bag. It was as if i found a gold chain on the road.... :)

My First Post.... :)

I started reading blogs only a few months back and now i'm hooked line and sinker. I love makeup, reading and writing and what better way to combine all this than to start a blog. This blog will not only be about make up and skincare, instead i plan to write about anything that captures my attention. It can be about anything from the Lady Million perfume i've been planning to buy to the Preston/Child book i just finished reading. Hope you ladies enjoy my blog just as much as i loved being a part of your shimmery world.

The following products were one of the gifts given to me by my younger sister in law from the States. I've been enjoything them for a while so I've decided to post a review of it.

The Healing Garden's Passion Rose Gift Set

It consists of:

1) Body creme
2) Body Mist
3) Shower Gel
4) Day Creme

                                                                  Body creme

Top: Shower Gel; Bottom: Day creme.

Ingredients:

Body creme

Left: Shower Gel, Right: Day Creme

 Body Mist

I'm going to confess something that is going to make all you girls out there gasp in shock. I hate the smell of Roses. There i said it... The smell of roses always evokes a very prominent sad memory so when i opened the gift wrapper and found this inside i was so disappointed. My hubby who was beside himself with exitement for the gifts that he got said "Why dont you smell it and then make faces?" so i dared to take a sniff and fell in love. Even though the primary scent is rose it is mixed with vanilla and so it is not overpowering at all. These are the only products with roses in them that i can stand.

Yeahs:
  • The body creme is very light, easily absorbed and smells amazing.
  • The shower gel lathers very nicely and leaves a clean feeling behind.
  • I love the body mist the most, of all the four products. It's really long lasting and i've got so many compliments while wearing it.
  • Not expensive. I visited their webite http://www.healinggarden.com/ and this gift set cost only 12$.
Nays:
  • Not available in India
  • Contains Parabens
Would i repurchase it if given the chance?
No. I want to try other body mists. (Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body works, etc)

My Rating: (4/5) -1 for availablity

P.S: Sorry for the flashes on the Pics, will try to take better pics next time.
